Trial set for Mark Lisica charged with causing crash near Mittagong
Dashcam footage will form part of the case against a 47-year-old man to stand trial over a horrific crash while allegedly driving his Volkswagon Golf, leaving a man paralysed from the chest down.

A man will stand trial after police allege he caused a horrific crash near Mittagong that left a local man paralysed from the chest down earlier this year.
Mark Lisica, 47, will proceed to the District Court to fight the charges after he pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Police allege the Pheasants Nest man was the driver of a silver Volkswagen Golf that was being driven dangerously and recklessly at 4pm on April 27 when it collided with a Honda motorcycle on the Hume Highway near Church Ave, Alpine.
The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old local man, was treated by paramedics at the scene for his serious neck and chest injuries before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition. After some time, Liverpool Hospital confirmed he was moved to the spinal ward for his injuries.
A family member told The Bowral News the crash has left the motorcyclist paralysed from the waist down and reliant on constant assistance.
Court documents show police claim to have dashcam footage which shows the terrible two-vehicle crash in action.
Mr Lisica was granted bail on April 28, the day after the offence, despite the police emphasis on the “serious nature” of the offences. His bail conditions prohibit the married father-of-one from occupying the driver‘s seat of a vehicle while the court matter is ongoing.
On Wednesday, Moss Vale Local Court heard Mr Lisica will proceed to District Court to stand trial for allegedly causing the horrific crash.
The matter will next be heard in a District Court call-over on February 2, 2022.
