A wellness centre – the first of its kind in the Southern Tablelands – is set to make waves after Goulburn Mulwaree Council was convinced that it’s something the community will benefit from.
Having “fought so hard” to have her business approved, Remedial massage and beauty therapist Chelsea Unwin, will be opening Results Float and Wellness Centre in Goulburn on August 16.
“I’m just so excited to offer this service to the local community,” Ms Unwin said.
“It’s the first time something like this has ever been opened here.”
She is passionate about providing a “one-stop-shop,” which is one of the things that makes this business unique to the area.
“Everything is in just one place – you can come and have a package made up of a massage, float therapy and a facial,” Ms Unwin said.
“And eventually when we have an infra-red sauna, people can do that too.”
The float therapy is another unique element, which Ms Unwin spoke about the benefits of.
“It’s great for mental health, physical health, pregnant women, people that have chronic pain, people with depression, anxiety,” Ms Unwin said.
“You go into the sensory deprivation water tank, which is soundproofed, and you get taken away from all the outside elements.
“There’s no music, it’s dark, it’s just gives your body that time to completely relax.”
There will be two sensory deprivation tanks in separate rooms, which Ms Unwin recommends for friends and couples to do together.
“My biggest thing is I don’t want people to just come and have a treatment, I want people to come and have an experience,” Ms Unwin said.
“It’s about making people feel welcome – a complete pamper.”
The centre will also be providing pots of tea after treatments, as well as hairdryer and deodorant stations.
“There’s nothing worse than having an amazing treatment and then being rushed out of the door,” Ms Unwin said.
To celebrate the opening, she will be launching events on August 13 – one being child-friendly and the other a VIP event.
The child-friendly one will be during the day and involve face painting, balloon animals and a sausage sizzle.
“It enables people to still come down if they have their kids,” Ms Unwin said.
The evening event will involve skin analysis and express facials, grazing boards, champagne and a raffle.
More information about the centre can be accessed via the Facebook page.
