A man has died after a motorcycle crash in the Southern Tablelands on Saturday.
Officers from The Hume Police District were notified of the drive gone wrong at about 3pm by the 80-year-old man’s friend.
The 52-year-old man told police that he and his friend were going for a ride on their motorcycles from Goulburn to Crookwell.
After stopping for a short time in Crookwell, they journeyed back to Goulburn and it was only when the 52-year-old man arrived that he realised his friend was no longer driving behind him, and notified police.
A search for the motorcyclist in the surrounding area started, and just before 6pm, police found the man had crashed on Range Rd in Goulburn.
The body of the 80-year-old was located near the motorcycle.
Police established a crime scene in the area, which was examined by specialist forensic police, and investigations surrounding the cause of the crash are continuing.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
