A man has pleaded guilty to eight counts of child sex abuse in the Southern Tablelands, after two victims recently came forward about the incidents, with some dating back to 2010.

The 30-year-old appeared via audiovisual link at Goulburn Local Court last Wednesday, where he plead guilty to seven counts of sexual intercourse with a minor, one count of indecent assault with a minor and one count of assault. Nineteen charges were withdrawn.

Documents tendered to the court state the acts occurred between 2010 and 2017 in Goulburn.

Facts state the man raped one girl four times as well as indecently assaulted her between the ages of eight and 11.

The other girl was raped by him three times and assaulted once between four and five years old, according to the documents.

Facts state the man was charged by the child abuse unit on September 14 last year, and is currently in custody at Hunter Correctional Centre in Cessnock.

Magistrate Geraldine Beattie set the date for him to be sentenced on July 25 at Goulburn District Court.

His lawyer, Rod Boyd, asked for a psychologist report to be completed before then.
