A woman who died in a single-vehicle ute crash on Wednesday afternoon in the Southern Tablelands was just 22, it has been revealed. Police are continuing investigations.

The woman who died in the Southern Tablelands in a single-vehicle ute crash on Wednesday was just 22 years old, police have revealed.

On Thursday, NSW Police said crash investigators had established how the accident occurred and were continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding it.

At about 12.45pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to the accident 5km south of Tarago on Bungendore Rd, near Collector Rd.

The woman - the driver and sole occupant - died at the scene.

NSW Police said the woman’s ute - which was travelling southbound - veered off the road, striking a tree and road signs.

According to an RFS spokeswoman, two RFS crews attended - including the Bungendore crew - who made the scene safe and assisted to close the road. They then handed the incident off to police.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District established a crime scene and are continuing investigations.

The road was closed down to one lane until the evening, with police establishing a contra-flow and providing traffic directions to drivers.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
