A Goulburn man has admitted to sexually assaulting a teen after her birthday party, telling the victim he was too drunk to understand what happened.

A Goulburn man has admitted to attempting to sexually assault a teen after her birthday party, telling the victim he was too drunk to comprehend her objections.

Anthony Estilo, 30, pleaded guilty to attempting sexual intercourse without consent and sexually touching another person without consent when he appeared via video link at Goulburn Courthouse on Wednesday.

Court documents reveal the Goulburn resident met the teenager a few days prior to the party at his house, where they were introduced by a mutual friend.

The teen invited Estilo to her 19th birthday party at the Quest Hotel in late January, according to the police facts. Facts show the party-goers played a variety of drinking games, during which the victim refused a dare to have Estilo lick icing off her body.

The boozy party ended around 2am according to court documents, but Estilo offered to stay behind and help to clean up the party mess when the teen’s friends left.

The two started cleaning but the facts show Estilo quickly changed his mind and told the teen they could clean later. He pulled the victim down to sit with him on the couch and put his arm around her as she began to doze off, according to the police documents.

The facts show Estilo then took her into the bedroom, where she covered herself in a blanket and he laid down beside her. He started kissing her and licking her neck and body, continuing even when the victim said no and turned away, according to the police facts.

Despite her continued attempts to push Estilo away and her repeated refusals, the facts show the victim fell asleep and woke up to find he had pulled down her shorts and underpants and was touching her vagina.

Although the victim pushed his hand away, court documents state Estilo kept touching her and kissing her on the mouth, neck and cheeks. After falling asleep again, the facts show the victim woke to the sound of the offender unwrapping a condom, which he placed on his penis before rubbing his penis on the teen’s vagina.

According to the facts, she then rolled on her side to prevent him from doing anything further and asked him to leave.

Anthony Estilo appeared at Goulburn Local Court on September 15 while on bail.

In the following days, the victim told several people about the attempted assault. When she saw the victim at a social event on January 26, the facts show she asked him what had happened and he told her he thought she had consented.

“I didn’t know, I was too drunk,” he said.

He then apologised to her several times, but court documents reveal she said she couldn’t forget the attempted sexual assault.

“If I forgive you, it will haunt me everyday,” she said.

Estilo will appear in Goulburn Local Court on November 3 for sentencing.
