Blaze causes significant damage to vacant house, suspicious

POLICE are investigating a blaze that caused significant damage to an Oakhurst house.

A FIRE in the early hours of this morning caused significant damage to a house in Oakhurst.

About 1.45am (Monday), emergency services were called to Dutch Place, where they found the vacant house well alight.

Officers from Fire & Rescue NSW worked to extinguish the blaze, and contained it to the main site with only minor damage to neighbouring properties.

Police from Mt Druitt local area command have been told the house has been vacant for some months.

No injuries were reported from the blaze.

The fire is being treated as suspicious until the cause can be determined.

A crime scene has been established and officers are investigating.
