A western Sydney man is alleged to have broken into a woman’s home and attacked her, causing serious injuries. While there, he allegedly also stole her iPhone.

A western Sydney man has fronted court after allegedly breaking into a woman’s house and “maliciously” inflicting bodily harm in a frightening domestic violence incident.
Joel Daniel Clapman, 22, of Whalan, appeared before Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday charged with domestic violence-related intimidation, break and enter causing grievous bodily harm, and larceny.
Clapman is alleged to have broken into the home of a woman known to him on Brierly Cres, Plumpton about 10pm on December 13, before allegedly stealing a $700 Apple iPhone.
Clapman is alleged to have also committed a serious indictable offence being intimidation and inflict grievous bodily harm, police documents reveal.
The 22-year-old was arrested five days later.
A representative of the police prosecutor told the court police would need a five-week adjournment to organise documents, including a transcription of a police interview.
The NSW Department of Public Prosecution will also consider carriage of the matter.
Clapman will reappear before Mt Druitt Local Court on March 22.
