Woman arrested after allegedly stealing from visually impaired elderly man in Mt Druitt
Police have arrested a woman following a public appeal for information about a visually impaired elderly man who was allegedly stolen from as he withdrew money from an ATM in Sydney’s west.

Police have arrested a woman after a visually impaired elderly man was allegedly stolen from when a woman helped him withdraw money from a western Sydney ATM.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested after attending Mt Druitt Police Station at 2pm today (April 21).
Police will allege a woman stole from a 72-year-old man who was attempting to withdraw money from an ATM at a shopping centre in Mt Druitt about 1:30pm on March 19.
The man had asked for staff assistance to withdraw cash from the ATM due to his visual impairment before being approached by a woman who allegedly offered to withdraw the money for him.
The man accepted the woman’s help and, as the transaction was being processed, the woman is alleged to have withdrawn a larger amount than requested.
It is alleged the woman then fled the scene with the cash.
Following a public appeal, a 24-year-old woman attended Mt Druitt police station and was arrested, where she is now assisting police with their inquiries.
Mt Druitt police were notified about the incident and investigations commenced in March.
