Two men and a woman have faced Blacktown Court over their alleged role in a large-scale illicit drug syndicate across Sydney’s south and northwest.
Numaan Mohammad, 20, of Blacktown, Abdul Qazizada, 25, of Acacia Gardens, and Brydi Olivia Voltan, of Paradise Point in Queensland, were arrested by Strike Force Sonivir detectives yesterday morning as part of investigations into the supply of illegal drugs.
Police allege Mohammad was involved in supplying large commercial quantities of the drug ice and MDMA after a clandestine drug laboratory was allegedly uncovered in a fire at a Kogarah home in September last year.
Detectives raided a property in Blacktown just after 5am yesterday and allegedly seized more than 2.6kg of MDMA, 600g of ice and an unregistered pistol.
He was charged with a string of alleged offences, including: supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, participating in a criminal group, possessing an unregistered pistol, possessing unauthorised ammunition and not keeping a firearm safely stored.
He was refused bail and remains in custody at Amber Laurel Correctional Centre in Emu Plains.
A legal representative did not apply for bail when Mohammed’s matter was mentioned in Blacktown Local Court today.
Qazizada and Voltan were also refused bail during their appearance at Blacktown Local Court yesterday.
Police allege Qazizada took part in manufacturing and supplying ice, cocaine, MDMA and pseudoephedrine.
He was arrested yesterday after detectives raided a home in Acacia Gardens and allegedly seized 1.5kg of ice, 2.2kg of pseudoephedrine, 960g of MDMA, a tablet press, five luxury vehicles and a Harley Davidson motorbike.
It is alleged he directed the activities of the group in the manufacturing of illicit drugs.
He faces 12 charges, including: manufacturing a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group, possessing a tablet press and six counts of knowingly dealing in the proceeds of crime.
Police arrested Voltan at a vehicle stop on Samantha Riley Dr, Kellyville just after 5am yesterday as part of raids at homes in Kellyville and Kellyville Ridge.
It’s alleged Voltan took part in the criminal group between September 2018 and May this year by providing a safe place to store the illicit drugs.
Police allege she took part in the supply of a large commercial quantity of illicit drugs, including cocaine and MDMA.
She was charged with eight offences, including: supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, knowingly dealing in the proceeds of crime, participating in a criminal group and contributing to criminal activity and possessing a tablet press.
Police say she dealt with the proceeds of the alleged criminal activity, and was linked to three luxury vehicles, including an Audi, Range Rover Sport and Ford Ranger.
The trio have not entered pleas to the charges. The matters were adjourned in July 25.
