An eye-watering $7.699 million is estimated to be owed to creditors embroiled in the failed Sydney Indoor MX Dome saga — which has left a trail of financial disaster just several months after opening its doors to the public.

As part of the NewsLocal investigation into the failed business, the Blacktown Advocate can reveal a total of 11 creditors who worked on the construction of the facility are owed a total of $799,611.

A further $5.9 million is owed to three investors who bankrolled the ‘dream business’ of Western Sydney couple Matt and Barbara Bartolo, the directors of the failed MX Dome.

Last week, NewsLocal revealed staff had joined investors and contractors in their fight for payment, after allegations superannuation was not paid were revealed.

Contractor creditor Full Scope Electrical Services boss Jason Freer is owed the most, with an outstanding bill of $246,572, while KSF Racing is owed a massive $123,431 in unpaid work completed.

A whopping €118,564 or $183,355 is still outstanding for dome constructor DUOL, while NewsLocal understands All Pavement Solutions has an estimated outstanding payment of $100,000.

Other contractors joining creditors in liquidation battles include Master Fabrication NSW owed $91,520, Grays Plumbing owed $48,261.40, Alert Fire Protection Services with unpaid bills of $18,334, Lane Access Group with $15,950 outstanding and Complete Response Solutions owed $8000.

Grays Plumbing boss Todd Gray said dealing with the stress of COVID-19 and fighting for payment on a job worths tens of thousands of dollars “makes you want to give up the game”.

“Unfortunately, I have had to deal with this type of issue of non-payment before,” Mr Gray said.

“For us, payment issues started from day one where payments were short, we were told that we would receive instalments.

“But during the project we stopped work and waited for payment to come through otherwise we would be in even more trouble.”

Mr Gray said he was disappointed he issued certification on the completion of works before receiving payment: “but we were told the place needed to open, with certification, to be paid”.

“We were there almost from day one and worked on this site for months until it opened,” he said.

An All Pavement Solutions representative claimed the business chased the directors for payment for several months without success, despite contacting them on a weekly basis.

Sydney Indoor MX Dome director Barbara Bartolo confirmed the funds owed to creditors “seems correct” in a response to NewsLocal.

Ms Bartolo said the investor “was a partner” in the business and obtained control of it.
