Eight days have now gone since Blacktown man Stevo Mandic was last seen by his loved ones, driving off to work like any other day.
The 68-year-old drove out of Kirkham St about 5.40am last Monday but never returned home.
His family reported him missing the same day and a police investigation to locate Mr Mandic was launched.
With no sight of their beloved family member more than a week later, Mr Mandic’s family made a heartfelt public appeal for any information regarding his whereabouts.
Mr Mandic’s son Zeljko Mandic told media on Tuesday afternoon it was “very out of character” for his father to be missing for this long.
“My dad was a loving father, grandfather and hard working man and this is very out of character for him to be missing for this long,” he said, holding back tears.
“If anyone has anything please let us know. It is just getting very hard and we can’t keep living like this.”
Early inquiries led police to believe the missing 68-year-old was in the Moss Vale area about 5pm on the Monday he was reported missing
Three days later his silver and grey Toyota Corolla, with the number plates BMD77R, was located on Wombeyan Caves Rd, Builio.
Police believe Mr Mandic may have travelled to the Wombeyan Caves, along Wombeyan Caves Rd and the Hume Hwy.
Blacktown Police Area Command crime manager Detective Chief Inspector David Goddard asked residents of the Builio and Wombeyan Caves area to check their CCTV cameras, dashcam footage from last Monday. Police also encouraged the community to check the alarms of rural sheds or buildings in case Mr Mandic had been there.
Stevo Mandic is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, of medium build, with grey hair. He was last seen wearing a white and blue striped T-shirt, green hi-vis vest, blue work pants, and black shoes.
