A high-ranking western Sydney Satudarah bikie has been charged after he allegedly tried to access child abuse material online.
Steven John Berrier, 38, was arrested at a home in Schofields on Friday after Strike Force Raptor officers received a tip-off in June that he had allegedly attempted to view the material on the internet.
Mr Berrier is a senior member of the outlaw motorcycle gang and is known to police.
Police raided his home and seized a phone, laptop and a reptile that officers allege was in urgent need of vet treatment.
Police allege Mr Berrier was involved in the attempted sale of several electronic stun gun devices.
He faces a string of charges, including: using a carriage service to access child abuse material, being in charge of an animal and failing to provide vet treatment, attempting to sell prohibited weapons without a permit and habitually consorting with convicted offenders after warning.
He appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday where he was granted bail on the condition he live in Schofields, report to police twice a week and forfeit $500.
Mr Berrier faces two unrelated charges of recklessly dealing with prohibited biosecurity matter, which he was on bail for at the time of his latest arrest.
The case will return to Blacktown Local Court in December.
