A 23-year-old man has been stabbed during a home invasion when three balaclava-clad men stormed into a Seven Hills home where he was home alone.
Blacktown police were called to a home on Federal Rd just after 10pm on Sunday when the man was self isolating with Covid.
Detective Acting Inspector Adam Wilson said the victim was waiting with a neighbour at his property before emergency services arrived and found stab wounds to his arms and legs, before being rushed to Westmead Hospital for treatment.
The man has been discharged from hospital and detectives are expected to interview him after he is out of quarantine.
“The exact motivation is hard to determine right now,’’ Det-Insp Wilson said.
“We haven’t spoken to the young man involved. When we speak to him we believe it will become clearer.
“The investigation’s in its infancy. We’re open to all lines of inquiry.’’
A crime scene has been established and forensically examined by specialist police.
