Plumpton: Man arrested over alleged St Marys kidnapping

Police have arrested a man over an alleged assault and kidnapping for ransom in western Sydney last November.

A man has been arrested over his role in an alleged assault and kidnapping for ransom in St Marys late last year.

Police say two men entered a workshop on Links Rd, St Marys, at about 12.30pm on November 25 last year and allegedly assault a 36-year-old man using a firearm.

The man was knocked unconscious during the assault and kidnapped by the two men.

Police said the man was located in a shed on a property at Shanes Park at about 10.30am the next day by three members of the public.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition with a fractured skull and severe injuries to his head and body.

He has since been released from hospital.

The State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad and Nepean Police commenced inquiries under Strike Force Methuen.

Strike force detectives searched two houses in Plumpton and Mt Druitt this morning and arrested a 36-year-old Plumpton man.

He was taken to Mt Druitt police station and is expected to be charged.
