A rapper from OneFour will remain behind bars after being charged over his alleged involvement in a violent street brawl at a Mt Druitt pub.

Salec Sua, 27, did not apply for bail after facing Mt Druitt court today on a riot charge related to the violent clash at a hotel on Mt Druitt Rd on July 10.

Police allege Sua, known by his rap name Lekks14, was one of at least a dozen people involved in the brawl between opposing street groups. It’s alleged many of those involved in the brawl were armed.

The charge carries up to 15 years in jail.

Mr Sua was arrested by Strike Force Imbara detectives at Silverwater Correctional Centre yesterday, where he will remain until his next court appearance at Parramatta Local Court on October 3.

The court heard Mr Sua was in custody at the time of yesterday’s arrest for six separate matters before the District Court.

NSW Police prosecutor Craig Pullen told the court the incidents involved Mr Sua and his “criminal group”.

He is expected to face Parramatta District Court for these matters on October 11.

OneFour is heralded as the first Drill rap group in Australia, a genre of music with its roots in Chicago and London.

In May last year UK Metropolitan Police Chief Cressida Dick said called on Youtube to remove drive music videos because it glamorised stabbings.

“Drill music is associated with lyrics which are about glamorising serious violence, murder, stabbings,” she said on an LBC radio interview.

“They describe the stabbings in great detail, joy and excitement.

“Extreme violence against women is often talked about.

“They say what they’re going to do to each other and specifically what they are going to do to who.”

OneFour released its biggest song Shanks and Shivs on January 30.

NSW Police launched Strike Force Imbara to combat these gangs in July.

In the song Shanks and Shivs, Mr Sua raps about guns and stabbing people.

“I try take his life,” he raps.

“But instead it’s pride I’m stealin’”

In the song the message, a distrack to Inner West group 21District, Mr Sua talks about knife fights.

“When it goes in ‘em then I push the blad a few few more times (push it),” he raps.

“Two-seven (reference to their Mt Druitt area) drill them boys victims, they don’t ride, just b*tch and life.

“Don’t be leaving your home cause set in the stone is where you’ll see your name.

“It is lack when I’m out then I’ll stomp till I see his brains.”

In the rap videos and on social media, Mr Sua is seen concealing his face with a scarf or hooded jacket.
