A$4 million outdoor dining area and playground will be unveiled at Blacktown Workers Sports Club on Friday.

The family friendly area is the latest upgrade at the Reservoir Rd club, which completed renovations for its indoor restaurant last year.

It includes seating for about 350 patrons, a water play area and a 172-inch television screen.

There will also be an eatery selling affordable meals, a gelato bar and a licensed bar stocked with craft beer, cider and wine.

Venue manager Kylie Canning said families would be the focus of the alfresco area. “It’s somewhere you can come, enjoy a meal and relax while the kids play outside nearby,” she said.

“Typically in clubs, kids are supposed to sit at the table and draw but they tend to get bored doing that, so we wanted an area where they could be entertained.”

Ms Canning said the playground included a slide, bridge, tunnels and an aquatic area with fountains.

“The water area will be a great place for the kids in summer,’’ she said.

The giant television will screen sport matches and the Olympic Games.

The club will celebrate the opening of the dining area on Friday from 3pm to late. A band will play from 8pm.
