A man who tragically died after the car he was in crashed into a tree at Minchinbury yesterday is being mourned while his brother fights for life in hospital.
Moustafa Kanjou, 22, was killed when the car he was a passenger in crashed on the Great Western Highway near Minchin Dr, just before 4pm on April 5.
He was seated in the back seat of the Volkswagen Golf GTi and sadly died at the scene.
His brother, Zak Kanjou, is in a critical condition at Westmead Hospital, while two other passengers, brothers Ali and Fawzi Chredieh, are in a serious condition.
Tributes are flowing online for the Chester Hill man, who worked as a real estate agent with National Property in Granville.
His death has sent shockwaves through the local Muslim community.
“My brother Mousty I can’t believe you’re gone,” Jamal Moubayed wrote in an online tribute.
“I’m lost for words, I’m in disbelief.
“Your smile lighten(ed) up the world and you made everyone around you happy. There was never a sad time around you.
“Mousty I miss you so much already. Days are going to be so different now.
“Inshallah (God willing) I’ll get to see your beautiful smile in jannah (paradise).”
Relative Moey Kaylyn called on people to pray for the Kanjou brothers.
“May Allah give light to his grave, forgive his sins and grant him the highest level of jannah,” he said.
“Please make dua for him and his brother Zak in a critical condition.”
Abdul Nachabe said: “You can replace a car but you can never ever replace one of the boys.”
Police from the Crash Investigation Unit are looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
