A man has been injured after three men stormed a home armed with a staple gun in Doonside.

Police were called to a home on Kildare Rd after 3am on November 25 after reports of a home invasion.

One of the three men, who was armed with the staple gun, forced entry into the home before he struck the 39-year-old man in the head, police said.

The offender then left the home via the front door when a second man entered through a window and stole a safe with jewellery and other items.

Blacktown Police were called and are investigating.

The injured man was taken to Blacktown Hospital. Five other adults who were at the house at the time were not injured.
