WHEN Dean Wallis went missing from Blacktown in 2015, he told friends he was going to stay with friends in the bush and left behind a host of questions that are yet to be answered.

As part of Missing Person Week, Blacktown police are appealing for help to find Mr Wallis.

Mr Wallis, now aged 45, was last seen by friends on New Year’s Eve 2015 in Blacktown.

Mr Wallis was staying with his grandmother in Kastelan St, Blacktown, until she died.

After her death, he moved into a share house on Highlands Cres, Blacktown.

He later told friends he was going to stay at a friend’s place in the bush because the share accommodation was no longer suitable.

Mr Wallis has not been seen or heard from since.

Investigators and family members hold grave concerns for Mr Wallis’s welfare, because of medical conditions, and are appealing for anyone who may have seen him to come forward.

“Mr Wallis hasn’t touched his bank account and hasn’t had any apparent income since he went missing, which is concerning” Blacktown Detective Inspector Paul Tickner said.

“Ha also hasn’t touched his email or Facebook accounts. He indicated that he would be staying with friends in the Mountains, but those friends are unknown. His grandmother’s house was Mr Wallis’ last known address.”

Police inquiries have revealed Mr Wallis was confirmed to be in Springfield, near the Blue Mountains, on Thursday June 9.

Mr Wallis is described as being of caucasian in appearance, 180cm tall, of a thin build, with shoulder length grey hair and a goatee. He has a West Tigers tattoo on his arm and a Pegasus tattoo on his shoulder blade.

Every year about 35,000 people are reported missing and research suggests for every person reported missing, another 12 people are affected.

This year, the Australian Federal Police are using missing persons week to spread the message: “Missing persons leave frayed edges. Stay connected.”
