A man will face 30 charges at Mt Druitt Local Court today after allegedly leading police on a wild pursuit on Tuesday, which injured a pregnant woman.

A wild police pursuit through western Sydney on Tuesday morning saw a pregnant woman taken to hospital.

Kyle Prendergast, 28, has been charged with 30 offences following the pursuit through Hebersham, which ended when the allegedly stolen Mazda CX-7 he was driving mounted the footpath and smashed into a telegraph pole.

Police will allege in Mt Druitt Local Court today officers went to a unit on Vallingby Ave, Hebersham about 10.30am to speak with Prendergast about an outstanding domestic violence matter.

He allegedly jumped in the Mazda in an attempt to flee and a pursuit began.

Footage of the incident appears to show the Mazda driving down the wrong side of Jersey Rd with police cars in pursuit when the vehicle tried to turn right at a roundabout on Popondetta Rd, Blackett, colliding head-on with a Holden Commodore.

The Holden was being driven by a 37-year-old pregnant woman. Witnsesses came to her aid and she was later taken to Nepean Hospital as a precaution, but has since been released.

The Mazda then reversed back onto Jersey Rd toward the intersection with Carlisle Ave, where the driver lost control and hit a police vehicle.

It then mounted the kerb and drove through fences on Jersey Rd before it smashed into a telegraph pole.

Prendergast was arrested at the scene following a struggle with police.

He was taken to Blacktown Hospital for treatment before being taken to Riverstone police station and charged with several domestic violence and driving offences.

Charges included aggravated break-and-enter and commit serious indictable offence; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; destroy or damage property; use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence (x3); contravene prohibition/restriction in apprehended violence order (x5); assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) (x2); drive motor vehicle during disqualification period (x2); police pursuit — not stop — drive recklessly (x2); use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention (x2); enter vehicle without consent of owner; take and drive conveyance without consent; drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous; resist officer in execution of duty; assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm; possess housebreaking implements' and having outstanding warrants.

It was further alleged Prendergast led police on a pursuit in the Taree area on Saturday, January 5.

He was refused bail to face court today.
