LALOR PARK
A house was broken into while a resident was sleeping inside on Monday about 2.30am. The 52-year-old Boronia St resident woke after hearing a noise in his home and seeing a torch light shining inside one of the rooms. Police were called and discovered that the thieves had removed several items from the house and fled via the back gate. The dog squad was called and found some of the stolen property that had been thrown over a fence and into the backyard of another house in the street. Police are investigating.
BLACKTOWN
A man has been charged with larceny after an employee’s handbag was stolen inside a shop at Kildare Rd last Wednesday. Police said a 31- year-old Doonside man walked behind the counter and removed a handbag belonging to an employee then fled about 9am. After viewing footage, police saw a man riding a motorbike at Mandoo Drive and arrested him. Police allege the man struggled with them. He is due to appear at Blacktown Court this week.
BLACKTOWN
A 36-year-old man has been charged after threatening a man for money at Flushcombe Rd on Thursday. Police said a 68-year-old Blacktown man was sitting on a bench with a friend at noon when a man grabbed his collar and asked for cash. A Baulkham Hills man was charged with demanding property with menace. He will appear at Blacktown Court this month.
DOONSIDE
Two men broke into a shop using an angle grinder at Hill End Rd on Sunday and stole a large amount of cigarettes about 1am. Two men of caucasian appearance, medium build and wearing dark hooded jackets approached the back of the shop. The thieves packed the cigarettes and placed them in a trolley before wheeling them away. Police are investigating the matter and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
