Aubrey Flick allegedly slashed woman’s neck with bottle at Hebersham

A man has faced court after allegedly slashing a woman in the neck with a broken bottle on a street in Sydney’s west. He has been charged with wounding with intent to murder.

A man who allegedly slashed a 34-year-old woman with a broken bottle in a street in Sydney’s west has been charged with attempted murder.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command responded to reports of a domestic violence-linked assault on Carlisle Ave, Hebersham about 3.15pm Tuesday.

Police arrived to find the woman with multiple injuries to her throat after she was allegedly struck in the neck with a broken bottle.

Officers applied first aid until paramedics arrived and transported her to Westmead Hospital. She is reported to be in a stable condition.

Aubrey Michael Flick, 38, was arrested at the scene and taken to Mt Druitt police station, where he was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.

He was also charged with resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty and breach of bail.

At Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday, Flick was represented by Aboriginal Legal Services and did not apply for bail.

Magistrate George Breton said Flick was on bail for an unrelated offence of stalk/intimidate which was to be defended at a hearing at Walgett Local Court on May 12. That date has now been vacated.

He will next appear at Mt Druitt Local Court next month.
