Two brothers involved in a shooting outside a Doonside supermarket last May will be sentenced in Parramatta District Court later this month.
Simmon Jajou, 24, and Wissam Jajou, 26, appeared before Magistrate Geoffrey Hiatt in Penrith Local Court on Friday, February 14.
Wissam Jajou pleaded guilty to firing a firearm in or near a public place and obtaining a firearm while under a prohibition order, while Simmon pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of concealing an indictable offence.
According to court documents, the brothers drove a red Hyundai Getz to the shops on Hill End Rd, Doonside, at about 2.25pm.
At about the same time, a red Toyota Hilux and a white Porsche stopped next to each other.
Police said an occupant of the Hilux left his vehicle, approached the tray, and then proceeded to walk across the road towards parked cars near the IGA supermarket.
The Hilux was then driven into Doonside Cres by the other occupant and parked outside the supermarket.
According to the facts, the two men in the white Porsche parked in front of the supermarket, and the Jajou brothers parked their Getz directly behind.
At this point, Wissam removed a black sports bag from the car and followed Simmon across the road.
Police said Wissam then walked towards the Hilux, pulled a gun out of his bag, and pointed it towards the Hilux.
Wissam fired a single shot at the Hilux as its drivers drove off.
Police were unable to find a cartridge or casing at the scene.
The Getz was pulled over by police about an hour later, and the two brothers were arrested. Police were unable to find either the black sports bag or the gun.
Police said Wissam was also under a Firearm Prohibition Order at the time of the incident.
The brothers will next appear in court on February 28 for sentencing.
