A man has faced court charged with dangerous driving after allegedly mounting a kerb and ploughing into three people at a busy western Sydney intersection.

A man who allegedly ploughed into three tradies at a western Sydney traffic crossing remains out on bail after fronting court for the first time.

Mokhalad Haitham Nadhim Al-Ajwadi, 22 of Chester Hill, appeared before the Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday, after being charged with three counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and one count of negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm).

Court documents state on November 7, Al-Ajwadi, who was allegedly driving a white Toyota Corolla, hit three tradies who were waiting at a set of traffic lights.

It is alleged by police Al-Ajwadi’s car mounted a kerb and sent the tradies flying into a nearby shop front.

Al-Ajwadi’s car, which ended up on its side, allegedly collided moments earlier with a maroon Honda CR-V at the intersection of Bungarribee Rd and Lock St.

CCTV footage captured the horrifying incident, including how the trio tried to move out of the way before the Corolla hit them.

One of the tradies, had severe injuries to his leg and could be heard screaming while the other two were unconscious on the ground.

The trio were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being rushed to Westmead Hospital.

Al-Ajwadi and the other driver were taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing, with police later arresting Al-Ajwadi and taking him to Bankstown Police Station.

He was granted conditional bail and appeared before Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday.

No pleas have been entered at this stage and he will front the same court on January 27.
