Blue Mountains: Najibullah Rejayee pleads not guilty to negligent driving charge

A man from Sydney’s west has pleaded not guilty to dangerous and negligent driving charges following a two car crash in Hazelbrook.

A western Sydney man intends to fight negligent and dangerous driving charges after a car crash in the Blue Mountains.

Najibullah Rejayee, 39, faced Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm), cause bodily harm by misconduct and not stopping at a red light.

NSW Police stated on January 3, emergency services were called to the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Oaklands Rd in Hazelbrook, following reports of a two car crash.

The crash involved two drivers and three passengers, with the female driver of the other vehicle flown to Westmead Hospital due to serious leg injuries.

Police established a crime scene and, following investigations, arrested Rejayee on January 7.

Documents tendered to the court allege Rejayee failed to stop at a red light and was driving his white Toyota LandCruiser “in a dangerous manner”.

Rejayee’s driver’s license was suspended by police following the alleged incident.

The Rooty Hill local had previously been granted bail and that is set to continue until he faces the Katoomba Local Court on March 3.
