Blacktown stabbing: Jack Raisback charged after St Martins brawl

A group of men were armed with a machete, shovel, baseball bat, axe and a crowbar in an alleged brawl which left teenagers seriously injured.

A man has been charged after a teen was stabbed and another was seriously injured during a violent brawl involving a machete and an axe in Blacktown.

An 18-year-old male was stabbed and another injured during the violent altercation near St Martins Village, Blacktown, at about 1.30am on January 10.

Emergency crews were called to a fast-food outlet off Blacktown Rd after the 18-year-old turned up with serious injuries.

He suffered a stab wound to his left shoulder, extensive bruising to his face and a cut to his lower back.

It’s alleged the teen and two friends drove to St Martins Cres at about 1am when they were confronted by a group of up to 10 men.

Police allege the group was armed with a machete, shovel, baseball bat, axe and crowbar.

The group allegedly smashed the windscreen of the teen’s vehicle before he was stabbed.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A second teen, also aged 18, was also allegedly assaulted and driven by a friend to Blacktown Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested Jack Raisback, 18, at a home in Cavendish Ave, Blacktown, at 1.30pm on Saturday.

He was charged with being armed with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and destroying property.

He was refused bail and will face Blacktown Local Court on January 15.
