A childcare centre for more than 100 children is on its way to a western Sydney suburb.
Developer Mehmet Yagci lodged a development application (DA) to the Blacktown City Council and was approved to build a childcare centre at 65 Cambridge St, Blacktown.
The original plan was to build a childcare centre for 70 children but has since been amended to increase the number to 101 children.
A planning report, conducted by GAT and Associates on behalf of the developer, outlines the plans to construct the childcare centre with a basement parking, landscaping and site works.
The basement carpark will have enough spaces for 35 cars, with 17 slated to be visitor spaces and 18 for staff.
All indoor and outdoor play areas will be on the ground floor, along with an entry foyer, reception desk, waste room, laundry, kitchen, pantry, storage rooms and a disabled toilet.
This childcare centre will be available for children aged zero to five-years-old, with a majority of the enrolments for children two-years and up.
A separate application for another childcare centre in Blacktown is being appealed by the developer after being rejected.
Pam Venture Pty Ltd lodged a DA to demolish a residential house on 95 Peter St and construct a two-storey childcare centre for 65 children.
A planning report, conducted by Think Planners on behalf of the developer, outlines the proposal included building three separate indoor play rooms, an outdoor play area, administrative areas, staffrooms, kitchen, laundry and a breakout space balcony.
This childcare centre would have had a maximum capacity for 65 children, with majority being kids aged three to five.
