A western Sydney man who was allegedly found with illicit drugs hidden inside a vitamin container and soft drink bottle has been refused bail.
Antoine Farhat, 39, of Greystanes, faces commercial drug supply charges after a Strike Force Raptor raid on his Roland St home allegedly uncovered GBL, ice and cocaine in March.
Police allege more than a litre of GBL, 50g of ice and a small amount of cocaine were found during searches of the home and a hotel room linked to him in Wentworthville.
Mr Farhat was stopped in a Nissan Navara by police on Merrylands Rd, Greystanes at about 9.40pm on March 27 when officers allegedly found GBL concealed inside a vitamin container and a soft drink bottle.
Later that night, officers searched the man’s Greystanes address and allegedly found more GBL, ice, cocaine and chemicals.
A search of the hotel room in Wentworthville allegedly uncovered an amount of GBL inside a backpack.
He was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station. He faces a string of charges, including two counts of commercial drug supply, one count of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug and another of possessing a prohibited drug.
Police allege Mr Farhat had stolen the Nissan Navara and had used unauthorised plates on the vehicle.
He is also charged with unlawfully obtaining goods, knowingly driving a vehicle without consent of the owner, using a vehicle with unauthorised plates and driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.
Mr Farhat did not appear when his matter was briefly mentioned in Parramatta Local Court today.
He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused by Magistrate Tim Keady.
The matter will return to court on July 7.
