5 Blacktown coffee hot spots
In need of a caffeine fix? Here are 5 to try in Blacktown.
Most of us struggle to start the day without a morning cup of coffee.
Not to mention the afternoon pick-me-up, the weekend coffee catchup with friends, or the late night espresso.
Luckily, our area is home to many places serving a delicious caffeine fix. Here are some to try:
If It Wasn’t For This Coffee
If It Wasn’t For This Coffee at the Mt Druitt Hub on Ayers Grove has a great name and great coffee. The social enterprise is owned and operated by Whitelion, an organisation supporting at-risk young people. The cafe uses a three bean blend roasted in Australia and visitors can also pick up a bag of the beans to brew at home.
Society Espresso
Society Espresso in Rooty Hill uses its own coffee brand, Society Roasters, for an Italian style cup. Along with all the usual coffee offerings, the cafe also has two espresso desserts for a sweet caffeine fix: Society Espresso Tip-a-misu, a deconstructed tiramisu with chocolate espresso sauce, and the Espresso Sundae topped with a shot of espresso.
The Old Boy Espresso
This Blacktown cafe, which celebrated its second birthday a few months ago, is known for its friendly service and great atmosphere. Its rustic vibe from an interior filled with timber and indoor plants creates a relaxed spot to enjoy a coffee.
Alt Cafe
The new kid on the block opened on Turner St, Blacktown, in May and has quickly made a name for itself. Alt serves coffee from The Reformatory Caffeine Lab in Surry Hills with a rotating roster of single origins. For a non-caffeine fix, try the golden chai latte.
The Corner Shop Cafe
The Corner Shop Cafe in Farnham Rd, Quakers Hill, serves Panorama Coffee in bright and airy digs. Grab a coffee to go or settle in at one of the tables.
Make your own
For a great tasting coffee at home, try the freshly roasted beans from Black Drum Roasters in Blacktown or Goliath Coffee Roasters in Wetherill Park.
