Beauty entrepreneur and TV star Natasha Spencer is putting the COVID-19 shut down to good use
The pandemic is here and it’s changed everything with social distancing for all. Here’s how Lane Cove resident Natasha is making the most of it.
Local
Don't miss out on the headlines from Local. Followed categories will be added to My News.
Who are you and where do you live? I’m Natasha Spencer. I’m a beauty entrepreneur and I live in Lane Cove.
When and why did you move here? I’ve lived here on and off since 1998. My parents liked St Michaels Lane Cove for my primary school when we moved back from living abroad. Now it’s home.
What do you like the most about living here? Lane Cove is forever evolving but has a strong sense of community. I like the family values and general warmth that the community has.
What does a typical day look like? There is no such thing as a typical day for me. Between meetings and events, my days are sporadic. I do, however, like to make time to go for a walk each morning or evening to clear my head. I put my phone into flight mode so there’s no distractions.
Where do you grab your bread/groceries? Figtree Greengrocer is my go-to. They have gourmet food options from meat, vegetables, chocolates and fresh bread. Plus I prefer to support small businesses when I can.
Favourite outdoor space in your area? Burns Bay Reserve is where I like to go for a run. It’s right on Lane Cove river and it’s dog friendly which I like.
One thing you’d like to change about your suburb? A light rail line would be fantastic!
What is your suburb’s best kept secret? Tandara Glamping in Lane Cove National Park. It’s tranquil and has one of the best views of the harbour.
What is your weekend ritual? I usually walk my dog and get coffee and breakfast. Then, time with the family and a lot of life administration type stuff that I miss during the week.
What is keeping you busy at the moment? Launching my new beauty product LipMD. I’ve got a number of other beauty products in the works so watch this space.
During these tough times you say what to your local community? Lane Cove has always had a great sense of community. The world needed a break and this is the perfect excuse to rest and reset. Call your family and friends and do things to keep yourself active around the house. Stay home. When this is over, and it will eventually be over, we’ll all appreciate the little things we take for granted.
Isolation means you are now? Catching up on Netflix series, spending time with my dad and dog, creating YouTube content and doing a lot of at-home workouts and also cooking.
You’re finding it challenging because? I miss the gym and my friends. I’m getting my life organised though. All the things, I’ve been putting off, I now don’t have any excuses to avoid.
