The world is gradually coming out of hibernation and we’re delighted that the arts is part of the action with many of our museums, galleries and libraries welcoming visitors from June 2.

“It’s wonderful to see museums, galleries and libraries begin to reopen their doors while innovatively reshaping the public’s experience to adhere to strict health guidelines,” said Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier Gabrielle Upton.

“NSW museums and galleries play a vital role in our community as a leader of Australia’s arts and cultural sector alongside our State’s libraries — all presenting inspiring and educational works to the public.

“It is an important step to reinvigorate the State’s creative economy during these uncertain times and uplift our community’s spirit,” said Ms Upton.

From June 1, museums, galleries and libraries will operate in COVID-safe ways to protect the health of visitors and staff, which will include strict physical distancing of 1.5 metres between people at all time, enhanced cleaning and limiting guest numbers to allow for four square metres per person.
