The Basketball Victoria Junior Country Championships under 14 tournament has concluded following an exciting weekend of basketball.
Thanks to a deal between the Herald Sun and Basketball Victoria there were 64 games shown live across three days of action.

DAY THREE REPLAYS
Colac v Warrnambool (Boys Division 2)
In a battle of the team’s from the state’s southwest it was Warrnambool who came away with a 56-28 win on the back of 16 points from Paddy Sell.
Ballarat v Bendigo (Boys Division 1)
Bendigo has stormed home to take out the boys title behind 21 points from Max Connick in a 60-39 win.
Morwell v Colac (Girls Division 3)
Morwell has taken home the Division 3 crown behind 12 points from Nicola Macgregor in a 35-20 win.
Warrnambool v Ballarat (Girls Division 1)
Warrnambool has held off a fast finishing Ballarat to take out the under 14 girls competition. Sophie Smith was outstanding on the winning side with 14 points as Chloe McArthur had 17 for the Miners.
Shepparton v Warrnambool (Boys)
Louis Greene had 21 points as four Warrnambool players put up double figures on their way to the grand final with a 91-43 win.
Horsham v Wodonga (Boys)
Seth Graham put together an impressive performance with 21 points to guide Wodonga into the grand final with a 38-25 win.
Swan Hill v Pakenham (Girls)
Pakenham’s Stephanie Nellen was the star of the show with 16 points as Pakenham won through to the grand final 31-29 in a thrilling contest.
Colac v Maffra (Girls)
Colac won its way through to the grand final 29-21 on the back of another strong performance from Ruby Fountain who had 14 points.
Horsham v Southern Peninsula (Boys)
Riley Downer came up big with 16 points to help Horsham reach the final four on the back of a 36-29 win.
Warrnambool v Wallan (Boys)
Warrnambool had four players in double figures, led by Louis Greene’s 19 points, as the ran out 78-44 winners.
Traralgon v Warragul (Boys)
Ford Gore was heavily influential with 12 points as Traralgon moved through to the semi-finals on the back of a 46-27 win.
Melton v Yarrawonga-Mulwala (Boys)
Cooper Clark put on a dominant display with 22 points to lead Yarrawonga-Mulwala to a 36-32 win.
Geelong United v Korumburra (Girls)
Jada Button and Willow Smith led the way with eight points apiece to help guide Geelong United to a 30-17 win.
Colac v Horsham (Girls)
Colac earned its place in the final four with a 36-21 win over Horsham on the back of 10 points from Ruby Fountain.
Echuca v Pakenham (Girls)
Pakenham has come from behind to win a thrilling contest against Echuca as Diaz Agg top scored with 11 points on the losing side.
Foster v Moe (Girls)
Moe moved through to the final four after holding off a final quarter comeback from Foster to win 24-23. Ruby Francis top scored with 10 points.

Romsey closed the second day of action with a 35-24 win on the back of 17 points from Jazmine Young.
Hamilton v Swan Hill (Girls)
Holly Rook produced a strong display with 13 points as Hamilton closed out the day with a 30-23 win over Swan Hill.

Indi O’Connor was impressive with 19 points to hand Warrnambool a 39-22 win.

Hamish Andrews led the way for Geelong United with 14 points as they prevailed 44-30.
Bellarine v Maffra (Boys)
Will Anderson starred with 13 points to guide Bellarine to a 40-20 win over Maffra.

Cohen Dent top scored with 14 points as Warragul were far too good for Wallanin winning 73-17.

Lucas Byrne produced one of the best displays of the weekend so far with 26 points to lead Ballarat to a 59-45 win.

Judd Carter was impressive with 17 points to lead Portland to a 45-29 win.
Mansfield v Terang (Boys)
Jesse Fowler top scored with 16 points to lead Terang to a comfortable 55-38 win.

Bendigo’s Lexie Fennell produced an enjoyable display with 13 points to lead her side to a 29-17 win.
Geelong United v Mildura (Girls)
Geelong United produce a fast start behind Jada Button’s 13 points to race to a 48-14 win over Sale.
Moe v Western Port (Girls)
Jessica Amos top scored for Western Port with eight points to lead her side to a thrilling 33-30 win.
Horsham v Surf Coast (Boys)
Oakley Farr (13 points) and Luke Miller’s (12) 25-point combination proved critical as Horsham held on for 42-20 win over the Chargers.
Swan Hill v Southern Peninsula (Boys)
Bryce Anderson top scored with 14 points to lead Swan Hill to a thrilling 45-42 win over Southern Peninsula.
Horsham v Wangaratta (Girls)
Meg Evans (14 points) and Sienna Sampson (13) were at their dominant best for Wangaratta to lead their side to a big 36-24 win over Horsham.
Phillip Island v Maryborough (Girls)
Maddison Leed (16 points) and Aisha Hibbert (15) have both produced dominant displays to lead Phillip Island to a 42-10 win over Maryborough.
Portland v Warragul (Girls)
Portland’s Maddi-Lyse Stone has led the way with 14 points to lead her side to a 43-14 win.

Mia Hollands top scored for the tournament hosts with nine points to lead the T-Birds to a 34-26 win.

VICTORIA’S BEST TAKE TO THE COURT
Regional Victoria’s best and brightest stars are set to take centre stage at the Basketball Victoria Under 14 Junior Country Championships and you can watch the action live.
Thanks to a partnership between Basketball Victoria and Herald Sun, 64 games are set to be live streamed across two courts from the three-day tournament from April 9 to April 11.
Our coverage will include four grand finals of action including the Division 1 and Division 2 grand finals in both the Under-14 boys and girls.
The Championships have played a significant role in the development in the best and brightest Australian talents to have taken to the court.
“We‘re excited to continue our partnership with the Herald Sun to provide 64 live streamed games at the upcoming Junior Country Championships Under-14 tournament in Traralgon,” a Basketball Victoria spokesperson said.
“It‘s a great opportunity for young Country Victorians to get a chance to impress in the spotlight and showcase the world-class renovation of the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium.
“This is a proving ground for future success in Victorian sport as there have been many phenomenal players come through the Junior Country Championships at this age including Dyson Daniels, Jade Melbourne, Matthew Dellavedova, Jaz Shelley and Mitch Creek just to name a handful.
“Make sure to tune in across the weekend to see all the action as we aim to crown our next Under-14 Junior Country Championships winners.”
