Albury man charged following online child exploitation investigation
A 49-year-old man in the state’s south will face court where police will allege he engaged in sexually explicit conversations with a 14-year-old and organised to meet her for sex.

A man will face court after he allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with a 14-year-old girl and arranged to meet her for sexual activity.
The 49-year-old Albury man has been charged following an investigation into online child exploitation by the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit.
Detectives began engaging with the man in February, posing as a 14-year-old girl.
Police will allege in court the man believed he was talking to the young teenager and engaged in sexually explicit conversations about what he wanted to do to her.
The 49-year-old allegedly made arrangements to meet the teenager for sexual activity.
Police spoke to the man at Albury on April 13 where he was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station following a brief struggle with officers.
Officers seized a mobile phone and other items in the man’s vehicle.
The 49-year-old was charged with use carriage service to procure under 16 years for sexual activity, two counts of use carriage service to send indecent material to person under 16 years and resist officer in execution of duty.
He briefly appeared at Albury Local Court where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Tuesday.
