White House cocaine probe delivers shock finding

The Secret Service has revealed how its investigation into cocaine discovered at the White House has ended after 11 days.

The US Secret Service has given up its search for the owner of cocaine found at The White House, one of the most secure and highly surveilled buildings on the planet.

In a statement following a classified briefing to Congress, the Secret Service said they ended their 11-day investigation due to a “lack of physical evidence” to link one of 500 identified people in the West Wing during the period the bag of blow was found.

Republican members of the House Oversight Committee called the “bogus” investigation a “complete failure” that was not believable.

“They know who goes in the White House. They have facial identification, they have -- y’all know you can’t go in there without giving your Social Security number anyway,” he told the Post.

Lauren Boebert added the Secret Service admitted that they couldn’t account for the missing key to the phone locker where the single gram of cocaine was discovered on July 2.

“There are 182 lockers in that foyer and currently... locker number 50 where the cocaine was found, that key is missing,” Boebert told Fox News Digital.

“They currently are not looking any further into those more than 500 people who entered that foyer of the West Wing during that weekend,” she said. “Instead, they are quickly wanting to close this investigation and move on to the next Biden crime crisis.”

The gram of cocaine was discovered inside a receptacle used to temporarily store electronic and personal devices before entering the West Wing on July 2.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s crime laboratory was brought in to conduct advanced analysis but was unable to pull prints or DNA.

The Secret Service said there was surveillance video footage of the phone lockers that could have identified who of those 500 may have accessed the phone lockers.

“Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered,” the statement said.

“At this time, the Secret Service’s investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence.”

The discovery of an unknown white powder just next to the West Wing lobby prompted an evacuation amid fears it could be a dangerous chemical or biological material, such as anthrax.

In its response to the discovery, The White House went to lengths to distance Joe Biden and his family from the area of the West Wing on the weekend it would find.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the president wasn’t at the White House at the time and added that visitor tours were held in the area on Friday, Saturday and Sunday before the discovery.

“The president, the first lady and their family were not here this weekend,” Ms Jean-Pierre said. “They left on Friday and returned just yesterday.”

Biden faced criticism for bringing his son, Hunter Biden, to a state dinner following his plea deal on tax and firearm charges, and the timing of the cocaine discovery led to further scrutiny online over the presence of the president’s family at the White House.

Former president Donald Trump said the owner of the cocaine could be found if they diverted a “tiny” portion of the money used to investigate him to “solve the Cocaine dilemma”.

“I’d bet they already know the answer, but just in case, it could be done in 5 minutes,” he added. “Is it Crooked Joe and his wonderful son, Hunter? Release the findings, release the tapes. We can’t have a crackhead in charge of our Nuclear Arsenal!!!”
