The bravery of Ukrainians as they rally to defend their country has stunned the world.
But one man has taken it to a whole new level after he was captured moving an anti-tank mine with his bare hands while puffing a cigarette.
The incredible footage showed the Ukrainian carrying the explosive device over a road and away from a bridge.
He was captured making the daring manoeuvre near Berdyansk in the south of the country.
The civilian, who has not been named, wore a black puffer jacket, jeans and dark trainers, while smoking a cigarette as he spoke in Ukrainian.
He made the cameraman laugh as he continued to hoist the landmine across the street with his arms out in front of him.
The man walked down a verge and into the surrounding woodland as he took the device away from traffic before the video came to an end as the civilian kept strolling into the forest, taking the landmine out of harms way.
The footage was shared across social media and people were quick to comment about the man’s stunning bravery.
“Brave doesn’t even describe what this guy is doing, he’s moving an unexploded landmine away from houses into a wooded area,” a person tweeted.
Another posted: “Only a Ukrainian would pick up a landmine in jeans and a jacket with a cigarette in his mouth and calmly walk it away from the bridge.”
“Never underestimate the mental & physical strength of the Ukes,” a person said.
It comes after numerous reports of heroes in Ukraine as they face down overwhelming Russian forces.
In dramatic footage reminiscent of Tiananmen Square’s “tank man” blocking Chinese forces, a man fought back as Russian tanks passed through his Ukrainian town.
As the tanks rumbled through, the villager climbed on to the front of one of the vehicles.
After the tank came to a halt, the man can be seen climbing down from the tank and kneeling in the middle of the road.
The man stood his ground despite the attempts of onlookers to drag him away.
Civilians are taking up arms to battle their Russian aggressors as Russia orders its troops to advance in Ukraine “from all directions”.
The capital of Kyiv is under siege and a blanket curfew is being enforced with shoot-on-sight orders, AFP reports.
At least 352 civilians — including 14 children — have been confirmed killed since Russia launched its invasion, Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Sunday. An additional 1684 civilians have been wounded, 116 of which were children, the state agency said.
