A European expert says that Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a nod to Trump’s plans to seize Greenland.

Vladimir Putin has essentially said that the US can have Greenland and he won’t interfere.

While, the debacle of the secret, not very secret, military attack chat group rumbles on.

The journalist who was accidentally added to the chat, and has subsequently been denigrated by the administration, has hit back.

US President Donald Trump has suggested the blame lay with national security adviser Mike Waltz. But defence secretary Pete Hegseth is also getting heat for the blunder, for it was he who set up the non-secure chat in the first place.

However, Mr Trump seems in little mood to fire anyone over the furore.

The White House will be relieved that it has managed to move news coverage, at least a touch, in a new direction.

On Wednesday, Mr Trump announced tariffs of 25 per cent on cars not made in the US would be levied.

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has labelled the move, “difficult to understand”.

Critics have warned the cross border nature of North America’s vehicle industry could see thousands of dollars added to the price of a car.

Mr Trump has insisted its short term pain for longer term gain and that car manufacturers will simply make more in the US to avoid tariffs.
