VP candidate JD Vance accuses VP Harris of ‘word salads’ as he appears on three-hour Joe Rogan podcast

VP nominee JD Vance has ripped into Kamala Harris over her ability to use “as many words as possible to say as little as possible” during a marathon appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

JD Vance has told millions of listeners on Joe Rogan’s podcast that Vice President Kamala Harris is the “Michael Jordan” of “word salads”.

Vance’s recording comes one week after his boss Donald Trump’s episode on the same podcast – the most popular in the US – which has now been viewed on YouTube 42 million times.

“I give a lot of speeches, so there’s actually a skill to this,” Mr Vance told Rogan.

“I think she is the Michael Jordan of using as many words as possible to say as little as possible. There’s actually a certain gift that she has,” he said.

“You listen to her talk and you know you’re 100, 200 words into it, you’re 500 words into it and you’re like, ‘What the hell did she just say?’ She didn’t say anything.”

Mr Vance went on to joke that he felt Ms Harris needed an “air traffic controller” to “help her out” while Rogan imitated Ms Harris, asking “Do you think she wears an earpiece?”

“I wouldn’t be surprised, I have no idea,” Mr Vance said.

“The only way I can describe it is she talks in circles.”

During the wide-ranging interview the pair also discussed President Joe Biden’s recent gaffe, where he appeared to call Trump supporters garbage in response to a comedian at a MAGA rally calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage”.

In response to the incident, Mr Vance insinuated that the president’s comments would be helpful to the Trump campaign.

“We’re gonna win, but after we win, I’m going to be convinced that Joe Biden was trying to help us the whole time,” he said.

The three-hour episode was also released on YouTube and had amassed 2.9 million views (as at 11.30am Friday AEDT).

Former White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci, now a vocal Trump critic, posted on X that Mr Trump would be “super upset” by his running mate’s guest slot on the podcast.

“Vance going on Rogan will be super upsetting to Trump. If you don’t know why [then] you don’t understand Donald Trump.”

It comes as Google is accused of suppressing searches for the former president’s appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience with listeners reporting difficulties finding the episode.

“For some searches on Monday the original three-hour interview didn’t appear prominently. Short excerpts uploaded by the Joe Rogan channel appeared, but we know it was frustrating for users looking to find the full video,” YouTube posted on X.

“We’ve worked to resolve this and viewers will begin seeing the full podcast in more YouTube search results soon.”
