Welcome to our coverage of US politics.
Donald Trump appeared to snub actor Cheryl Hines, the wife of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr, as he walked into the UFC 314 fights.
Video captured the President as he received a raucous welcome at the Kaseya Centre in Miami – which was much warmer than the one he gave the high-profile spouse of his Cabinet secretary.
The moment followed reports the Trump administration is developing a plan for the largest mass deportation in US history, aiming to deport one million immigrants by the end of 2025, and in every year that follows.
And the government has exempted smartphones, computers and other electronics from its punishing “reciprocal” tariffs – lessening the cost impact on American consumers for a host of popular hi-tech products.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) cited a presidential memorandum issued overnight, which the White House has not publicly released, as the impetus for the new guidance.
The exemptions cover various electronic goods including smartphones and components entering the US from China, which are currently subject to a staggering additional 145 per cent tariff.
