Autopsy to shed light on mysterious death of Australian woman

THE coroner probing the death of Australian model Sinead McNamara, who was found unconscious on the back of a luxury yacht in Greece, has refuted claims that he told the family to stay away from the morgue.

Reports circulated yesterday suggesting the coroner urged Ms McNamara’s family to stay away from her body because it was in such a bad state.

“I have not spoken to the family,” said Elias Bogiokas, who conducted an autopsy on Ms McNamara.

“I’ve seen reports on the internet saying that I refused members of the family to go to the morgue, that is not true.

“In many cases I ask the members of the family to come and see their relative.”

It comes as it was revealed Ms McNamara may have been upset over a relationship breakdown before her shock death, a source told news.com.au.

The man who discovered the 20-year-old unconscious off the back of the $190 million superyacht told of his desperate attempts to save her last Friday.

The captain of a boat moored next to the ‘Mayan Queen IV’, who did not want to be named, shouted “What are you doing?” and when she didn’t answer, he began calling for help.

He described a frantic scramble by police and medics to save the Instagram influencer until, after about 30 minutes, they made the decision to fly her to a hospital in Athens.
