Pop star Ricky Martin has made his first public appearance since allegations that he had an abusive relationship with his nephew were dropped.

The Puerto Rican singer made an on-stage plea to fans during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday (local time).

According to TMZ, Martin told the crowd, “All I want is for you to forget all your issues tonight and just focus on love and light and let’s just have a good time.”

Martin then continued the show without mentioning the allegations or the court case.

Earlier, Martin broke his silence on the shocking incest claims after allegations of harassment and an illegal sexual relationship were dropped.

“Truth prevails,” Martin tweeted along with a statement from his lawyers.

Martin, 50, faced the Court of First Instance of San Juan, which did not extend the temporary protection order reportedly taken out by his 21-year-old nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.

Martin, who previously said he would only respond to the “completely false allegations” through the judicial process, appeared before Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell via Zoom before the case was dismissed after an hour.

“This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with nothing to substantiate them,” his lawyers said in a joint statement.

“We re are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with this life and his career.”

After the star’s accuser asked to have the entire case thrown out, Martin released a video to TMZ to start “healing process”.

“Thank God [these] claims were proven to be false, but I’m going to tell you the truth. It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don’t wish this upon anybody,” he said in the video.

“To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best. And I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn’t hurt anybody else,” he added.

“Now, my priority is to heal. And how do I heal? With music. I cannot wait to be back on stage. I cannot wait to be back in front of the cameras, and entertain, which is what I do best.”

The dismissal came after it was revealed that Sanchez was alleged by his family and colleagues to have “mental problems” and lengthy criminal history.

Details of the case and Martin’s appearance have been sealed by the court, according to Puerto Rico judicial spokesman Jean Carlo Perez.

Mr Martin’s lawyers, Joaquin Monserrate Matienzo, Carmelo Davila and Harry Massanet Pastrana, said they anticipated the temporary protection order would not be extended by the Court.

“The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter,” they said.

“The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case.”

It comes a week after Martin was alleged to be in an illegal relationship with the petitioner of the restraining order.

Puerto Rican newspaper El Vocero reported that the person claimed Martin harassed him after not taking a break-up well.

While the identity of the person was not identified in the original complaint, Martin’s brother Eric claimed it was his nephew, Sanchez, who had “mental problems”.

It also emerged that Sanchez has a lengthy criminal record in his native Puerto Rico and once stalked and threatened to kill a female co-worker.

Fox3Now reported that Sanchez’s colleague Claudia Ramrez Martell herself took out a restraining order against him after he became “obsessed” with her.
