TV star’s confession: ‘Prince Harry was my toyboy’

A US reality star claims she had a fling with the royal when he was 21 and she was a 34-year-old mother of two.

Catherine Ommanney speaks out about brief romance with Prince Harry

A reality TV star has spoken for the first time of her month-long fling with Prince Harry — when he was just 21 and she was a 34-year-old mum of two.

Catherine Ommanney says she and Prince Harry acted like teenagers and even posed for a photo in a bathtub together.

Despite their 13-year age gap, she had the “time of my life” in 2006 with Prince Harry — who gave her the “most passionate kiss I’ve ever had”.

Ms Ommanney, who once starred in The Real Housewives of DC, told The Sun she had spoken out because she does not expect their relationship to feature in Prince Harry’s upcoming book Spare.

She told The Sun on Sunday: “I doubt I will be in Harry’s book as a prince can’t run off with a 34-year-old mother-of-two, it’s just not the done thing.”

Ms Ommanney had split with her husband when she and Prince Harry met at trendy Art Bar in London’s Chelsea in May 2006.

She said: “We had some mutual friends in the property business and he introduced himself.

“Harry was wearing an Australian-style hat that made me laugh so I asked him, ‘What are you doing looking like a t*** in that?’

“I don’t think he was used to people taking the Mickey and once we started talking, it was like there was no one else was in the room.”

She claimed the pair went back to his friend’s house where Prince Harry made her a bacon sandwich.

“We went upstairs to the bathroom and started mucking about like teenagers, singing into toothbrushes like they were microphones. We got into the bath with our clothes on and one of our friends took a photo on my phone.

“Harry and I went to the kitchen and he made a great bacon sandwich. We sat in the kitchen chatting for ages and we both had the giggles. We started play fighting and I think we were wrestling on and off for about 15 minutes when I told him I needed to go home.

“It was then that he lifted me by my waist off the floor and held me against the wall. He gave me the most incredible, passionate kiss I have ever had in my life. I was absolutely speechless.”

After two more dates, Prince Harry changed his number and Ms Ommanney did not see him again until 2009, when they bumped into each other at a polo match in Barbados.

She said: “Harry pushed past his bodyguards to give me a kiss and a hug and we had a great conversation. In hindsight it’s a shame we couldn’t have remained friends.”

QUEEN’S FIRST REACTION TO MEGHAN MARKLE

The late Queen’s “concerned” reaction to Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle has been revealed in a new book.

Prince Philip’s friend Gyles Brandreth has claimed the Queen “did everything” to make Markle “feel welcome”.

But his upcoming biography called Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait says that the monarch had one very telling concern about their relationship.

Brandreth wrote: “The only concern the Queen let slip in the early days of the Sussexes’ marriage was to wonder to a friend if Harry wasn’t ‘perhaps a little over-in-love’.

“This was as far as she came – to my knowledge at least – to ever uttering a word against the new Duchess of Sussex.”

It also claims, contrary to claims made by Markle in her explosive interview with Oprah, that the Queen and the royal family greeted the actor with open arms.

The new biography claims the Queen was “devoted” to Prince Harry and that “she truly wished him well in his new life abroad”.

An excerpt of the book, published in The Mail On Sunday says: “The truth is that when her grandson told her he was marrying Meghan Markle, she was truly delighted by the prospect.

“She liked Meghan and told lots of people so. And she did everything she could to make her future granddaughter-in-law feel welcome.”

Brandreth’s book claims the Queen even suggested Markle keep working as she was “concerned for her future happiness”.

It reads: “At their first meeting, the Queen said to Meghan: ‘You can carry on being an actress if you like – that’s your profession, after all.’”

Brandreth also claims the royal family found it “bewildering” and “rather presumptuous” when Markle and Prince Harry called their daughter Lilibet.

The Queen, however, said the name was “very pretty and seems just right”, Brandreth said.

Lilibet was Her Majesty’s personal pet name, which only very few people outside her immediate family used for her throughout her life.

Brandreth wrote: “According to the Sussexes, Harry sought his grandmother’s permission to use her family nickname as the Christian name for her 11th great-grandchild.

“The Queen’s recollection was a little different. According to the Queen, Harry told her the Sussexes wanted to call the baby ‘Lilibet’ in her honour and she accepted their choice with good grace, taking it as the compliment it was intended to be.

Others in the family found it presumptuous given that the name had always been exclusively the Queen’s.

“Later, the Queen said: ‘I hear they’re calling her Lili, which is very pretty and seems just right’.”

The Queen finally met her great-granddaughter in June this year.
