World leaders pay tribute to Queen as palace ‘snubs Kim Kardashian party request’

Tributes have poured in from world leaders such as former US president Barack Obama for the Queen on her Jubilee.

Barack Obama has paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth on her Jubilee.

Taking to Twitter the former US president, 60, sent a video greeting:

“Today, I’m joining those around the world in celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It is with gratitude for your leadership and the kindness you’ve shown me and my family that I say, may the light of your crown continue to reign supreme.”

Obama acknowledged the Queen’s “grace and generosity”, recalling how the monarch put him and his wife Michelle, 58, “at ease” on their first trip to meet her.

Current US president Joe Biden, 79, and wife Jill, 70, posted a video online wishing the history making royal a “joyful Platinum Jubilee celebration.”

Mr Biden said, “On behalf of the United States, congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II on an unprecedented 70 years of service to the UK and Commonwealth and thank you for your friendship to the American people.”

The North Korean dictator, 38, hailed Her Majesty, 96, for her dedication to duty in a letter as North Korea’s foreign ministry confirmed on its website “Mr Kim” had sent a letter congratulating the Queen and the British people.

London and Pyongyang established diplomatic relations in 2000 and have maintained their respective embassies, despite North Korea’s worsening ties with the West over its nuclear and other weapons development.

“I send my congratulations to you and your people on the occasion of the national day of your country, the official anniversary of your Majesty’s birthday,” Kim said in the message to the queen, which the foreign ministry said was sent on Thursday.

KIM KARDASHIAN TRIED TO GET TICKETS TO JUBILEE

There is one A-lister the Queen isn’t allowing at her Jubilee celebrations – and it is Kim Kardashian.

The reality star, 41, who is currently in London, is said to have asked for tickets to attend the monarch’s Platinum Party, to be held on Saturday, with her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, 28.

But both Buckingham Palace, and the party’s TV broadcaster – the BBC – are said to have turned down Kardashian’s request.

The Kardashians star is believed to be so keen to attend the Queen’s event that Kardashian told her representatives she didn’t mind if the tickets were “not VIP”, according to the Daily Mail.

“Kim rarely gets turned down to attend any event, so this has been quite surprising, especially as she doesn’t visit the UK often,” a source told the British tabloid.

“Kim and Pete love the Royal Family and really wanted to be a part of this special celebration.”

Kardashian and Davidson are currently on their own tour of London, having been spied flaunting PDA on shopping trips including at Dover Street Market, though it is unclear if their trip was to coincide with the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

Kardashian has so far not addressed the snub publicly.

STAR TRIBUTES TO THE QUEEN

Beatles legend Paul McCartney went back 25 years to mark the start of Jubilee celebrations with a #ThrowbackThursday selfie with the Queen.

“70 beautiful years of Queen Elizabeth the second. Congrats ma’am! And thanks – Paul,” McCartney posted to Instagram alongside a picture from 1996.

The photo was from the royal opening of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, with the Queen, then 64, wearing a similar light blue outfit and hat as the now-96-year-old wore to kick off the Platinum Jubilee.

McCartney, who was knighted a year after the photo was taken, was joined by British pop royalty in congratulating the Queen.

Not to be outdone, David Beckham evoked the Beatles when he shared a photo of meeting the Queen to thank her for “70 years of service and inspirational leadership of our country”.

“Let’s come together and commemorate her remarkable reign with a great British party these next few days,” Beckham wrote.

Dame Julie Andrews remembered listening to The Queen on the wireless in 1947, just two years after the end of World War II

“Your Majesty, I well remember the beautiful radio speech you gave on your 21st birthday,” she said in a video message shown on BBC News:

“You pledged yourself in service to the people of Britain and the Commonwealth, and I feel that in all the years since you have never betrayed that promise.”

“Ginger” Spice Geri Halliwell shared an image of the Spice Girls meeting the Queen thanking her for “70 years of inspirational leadership”.

Also on BBC, actress Sheridan Smith remembered meeting the Queen with her late father, who passed away in 2016.

“Your Majesty, one of the last memories I have of my dear father was of him escorting me to Buckingham Palace to receive my OBE,” she said.

“It was a very special day for him too and one that he cherished dearly as you have touched the hearts of generation upon generation.

“You are beloved by children, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Your selflessness and dedication to duty is beyond compare.

Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins, meanwhile, prepared to throw a massive Platinum Jubilee party at Essex mansion.

“There is a huge party at the GC residence today. I am so patriotic, I love the Queen, and I’m going to do her proud today,” Gemma told her Instagram followers.
