A mass shooting at a pub in Toronto, Canada, has left 12 people injured and six with gunshot wounds, after three armed men with an assault rifle and hand guns opened fire.
The shooting unfolded after the men walked into the Piper Arms pub in the city’s local district of Scarborough and opened fire at patrons sitting inside.
The pub was celebrating its opening night when the shooting started.
Police said the suspects were still at-large after the shooting which occurred at 10.39pm Friday night local time (Saturday afternoon AEDT) near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive.
They also said the victims were aged in their 20s to mid-50s four victims have non-life-threatening injuries.
Superintendent Paul Macintyre confirmed: “By the grace of God, there’s been no fatalities.”
Paramedics said it was a “dynamic situation” at the time of the incident, with injuries ranging from minor to critical after gunfire went off.

Toronto Fire Services spokesperson Alex Vashkevich said fire crews were called after there were reports of gunfire and an active shooting.
Several people have been taken to trauma centres, paramedics said.
The shooters were last seen wearing a black balaclava and fleeing in a silver car.
Roads surrounding the pub have been closed and police are currently investigating the incident. The motive for the violence is unclear.
Mayor Olivia Chow said she was “deeply troubled” hearing about the shooting.
“I have spoken to (Toronto police) Chief (Myron) Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed,” Chow said in a post on X.
“This is an early and ongoing investigation – police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
