A number of key pieces of evidence in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial were shown to jurors for the first time on Friday local time (Saturday AEDT)— including a massage table and a “twin torpedo” sex toy that were seized from Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida mansion in the early 2000s.

The massage table from the multi-millionaire paedophile’s Palm Beach estate was brought into the Manhattan courtroom and briefly examined by a police officer who testified on Friday, the New York Post reports.

The dark-green, collapsible table was shown to jurors as Assistant US Attorney Maruene Maurene Comey quizzed former Palm Beach Police officer Gregory Parkinson about a search warrant he and other cops executed at the estate in October 2005.

Parkinson put on black disposable gloves and briefly examined the table in the middle of the courtroom, about three metres from where Maxwell sat with her defence attorneys.

The disgraced socialite did not visibly react as the former investigator combed over the table for about half a minute.

A detective who was handling the table then propped it up in the centre of the courtroom, and Parkinson returned to the witness stand.

He then told Comey that it was indeed the massage table seized from Epstein’s estate on October 20, 2005, the day he and other officers searched the mansion.

“It’s from the second-floor bathroom,” he said.

He recognised the table by its appearance, as well as by a property number and a sticker that said it was made in Vista, California.

The detective then folded the table and placed it in front of the prosecutor’s table, where it stayed until the trial broke for the day at about 5pm.

Another Palm Beach officer, Sergeant Michael Dawson, took the stand after Parkinson and elaborated on what they were looking for in the house that day in 2005.

“We were looking for massage tables. We were looking for massage oils. We were looking for sex toys,” he said.

Prosecutors then published a photo of a brown cardboard box that had a pair of sex toys, called “twin torpedo”, and showed the image to the jury.

Dawson testified they were recovered from a closet in the house.

Prosecutors did not explain why they were bringing the table and the sex toys into evidence, but the first accuser who testified at the trial said Epstein used sex toys on her and abused her during “massages”.

The accuser, identified as “Jane”, testified earlier this week that Epstein used a vibrator on her when she was 14 years old and alone with Maxwell and Epstein.

“He liked to … use vibrators that were different sizes; and even, like, those back massagers that were, you know, painful,” she said.

Jane also testified that her abuse by Epstein and Maxwell often involved her being requested to massage Epstein.

“How did he like to be massaged?” prosecutor Alison Moe asked her on Tuesday.

“He liked … very hard, like rubbing his shoulders really hard, and like twisting his nipples hard, and rubbing his feet hard,” she said.
