Shawshank Redemption: Ghislaine Maxwell scores plum role in prison

Angry inmates say Ghislaine Maxwell has done a “Shawshank Redemption”, after scoring a cushy gig in prison.

Ghislaine Maxell has been given a plum new role in the prison library, causing upset among prison inmates who say she’s done a “Shawshank Redemption”.

The convicted sex trafficker has landed a job in the legal department at low-security FCI Tallahassee in Florida, handing out legal forms to inmates.

The 60-year-old disgraced socialite reportedly walked into the role, which she’ll fulfil during the week, leaving weekends free to socialise in her unit.

“Many of the girls were p----- at how she swanned in and was given such a plum job,” a source told The Mirror.

“They joke she has done a Shawshank Redemption and landed on her feet with her library gig.

“There are girls inside who have washed thousands of floors, peeled thousands of vegetables, done all manner of things, including keeping their noses clean, hoping for such a gig. Yet Ghislaine is gifted it.”

The source said Maxell’s high intelligence may have helped her score the gig.

“The IQ of most of in there, you can imagine, is low, but all the girls know you have to earn the right for such a job.”

In 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne, played by Tim Robbins, is an inmate who runs a prison library after being sentenced for the murder of his wife.

Maxwell, who allegedly introduced Prince Andrew to his sex accuser Virginia Giuffre, is not due for released before July 2037.

MAXWELL BEFRIENDS DOUBLE KILLER

Maxwell has reportedly befriended a “sadistic” inmate who is serving a life sentence for her role in two savage murders in which she also ordered her husband’s eyes to be gouged out.

Maxwell, 60, was moved to Florida’s low-security federal correctional facility in Tallahassee last month to serve a 20-year sentence for grooming young girls to be abused by her late paedophile ex, Jeffrey Epstein.

According to a prison source, Maxwell has become fast friends in prison with Narcy Novack, the Florida woman serving life for orchestrating the murders of her millionaire husband Ben Novack Jr., and his mother, Bernice Novack, the Mirror reports.

Novack, 65, was portrayed by Paz Vega in a 2015 Lifetime movie about her shocking case, Beautiful & Twisted, which also starred Rob Lowe and Candice Bergen.

“Once inside, Ghislaine gravitated towards Narcy,” a prison insider told the publication.

“Given their ages and millionaire backgrounds, they were always destined to get on well. Together, they spend hours talking, laughing and joking.”

Novack was convicted for orchestrating the savage 2009 slayings of her hotel-heir husband in a suburban New York hotel room, as well as his mother at her Fort Lauderdale home.

The former stripper had watched two hitmen she hired beat her husband, heir to the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel fortune, with barbells before ordering them to gouge out his eyes with a knife to make sure he could never look at another woman even once dead, prosecutors said at her federal trial. Investigators found the victim hogtied and with his eyes completely removed. One of the hitmen who confessed to carrying out the killing testified that Novack ordered her husband’s eyes sliced with a knife and offered a pillow to muffle his screams.

Three months earlier, Novack’s 86-year-old mother was killed in Fort Lauderdale by being clobbered in the teeth and head with a plumber’s wrench.

“Because of Ms. Novack’s greed and her selfishness and what she thought was her ability to manipulate other people, there are two innocent people – her husband and her mother in law – who are dead,’ the judge said at her sentencing.

The killings “involved particularly cruel, sadistic and gratuitous savagery seldom seen in the annals of crime”, prosecutors said when they called for life sentences.

They said Novack feared that her husband would divorce her, and that a prenuptial agreement would bar her from the multimillion-dollar family estate.

They claimed her motives were “hatred, greed and vengeance”.

Prosecutors described Novack as “evil” — a reputation she maintains in jail, the Mirror’s source claimed.

“Because of her length of time inside and the brutality of her crime, she is treated like a female don. All the younger girls address her as ‘Miss Novack’ out of respect,” the insider said.

“Ghislaine will have a modicum of protection through her friendship.”

Prison records confirm both women are currently held in FCI Tallahassee.
