Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has revealed he had an “informal chat” and “a drink” with the King and Queen alongside his fiancee Jodie Haydon on the royals’ first night in town.
King Charles has also been given new titles from the Governor-Genral.
It comes after the royal couple took in the Sydney sunshine on their first morning in Australia.
Charles and Camilla were spotted on the lawns of Admiralty House around 10am this morning.
Both were in smart casual wear, with the King sporting a beige jacket and trousers and the Queen in a dark blue summer dress and matching cardigan, and sporting sunglasses.
It is the first time they’ve been seen since they arrived last night, where they were met by a number of VIPs including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and partner Jodie Haydon, as well as 12-year-old Ky Exelby, from Adelaide, whose wish it was to meet the King.
The five-day trip is the couple’s first Australian visit since Charles became King in 2022.
Saturday is meant to be a rest day for the Royals as they recover from the long trip from England.
