Womenswear store Tea Lily has moved across the street to a new, bigger space on Grafton Street.
The store, which is nearing its 25th anniversary, is a go-to for Cairns women chasing outfits for special events, such as weddings or the races.
“The other store was just getting a little bit too small and it was just a little bit too cramped in,” co-owner Ella Hughes said.
The store was located at the entrance to Rusty’s Markets since 2003.
“We’ve got a bigger store where we are across the road, we have more room to display the stock in store and we’ve been able to create a beautiful change room area for everyone to enjoy,” Ms Hughes said.
Ms Hughes said she was grateful for the continued local support the store has received since it first opened at The Pier in 2000.
In addition to occasion wear, the store stocks a variety of accessories and everyday clothing, with all stock available to buy online.
Ms Hughes said Tea Lily champions Australian and Queensland designers and focuses on offering “classic styles”.
“It’s little bit vintage, lots of floral, but also classic styles that are timeless and will carry through multiple years and multiple events,” Ms Hughes said.
“You can get things for special occasions, but something that you can wear for years to come — we’re not so much focused on fast fashion.”
The new store is located at 82 Grafton Street.
