AN ELDERLY woman — who was one of two pedestrians hit by a car which veered off the road twice over 200m before hitting a pole — has died in hospital.
Just after 11am, a woman was driving a Toyota sedan north on Boronia Drive in Greenacre.
Police were told the car veered from the roadway and hit a 91-year-old woman walking on the footpath.
The driver returned to the road and continued another 200m, again veering off the road. A second pedestrian, a man, was hit before the car hit a pole and stopped.
Emergency services were contacted and attended.
The two pedestrians and the driver have been taken to Liverpool Hospital but the elderly woman died from her injuries.
The driver, a 63-year-old woman, remains in a serious but stable condition.
The male pedestrian is in a stable condition.
A crime scene was set up and the Crash Investigation Unit is now preparing a report for the coroner.
Boronia Drive was closed in both directions between the Hume Hwy and Hillcrest Drive as investigations took place.

Blood was visible where the female pedestrian was struck.
A pink towel covered in blood and a pink woman’s handbag also lay behind police tape.
A trail of debris could be seen strewn around the car, which was completely destroyed.
A witness, Khacija Mohammed, 75, who lives directly opposite the crash site, told The Express she was working in her vegetable garden about the time the accident occurred.
“I went back inside to get my towel so I could have a shower but I stopped when I heard a big noise,’’ she said.
Other neighbours stood on their balconies and driveways watching the clean up.
An electrical crew arrived about 1pm to work on the damaged power pole.
