Urban Development Institute chief executive Danni Hunter appointed new boss of Property Council

Victoria’s property industry is set to play a big role in the state’s economic recovery. See who’s been appointed to a key industry role.

Victoria’s property industry lobby has a new boss amid huge challenges as Melbourne recovers from shutdowns.

Danni Hunter has been appointed state executive director of the Property Council of Australia following the resignation of Cressida Wall.

Currently state CEO of the Urban Development Institute of Australia, Ms Hunter has previously worked for the Property Council as well as government and the private sector.

“While Victoria is now thankfully out of lockdown, the state will still face tremendous

challenges as its economy recovers,” she said.

“The property industry will play a central role in the economic recovery and I

look forward to working with government policymakers and decision-makers as we

build Victoria’s recovery together.”

Property Council chief executive Ken Morrison said Ms Hunter was the right person for the job as the industry had state government “mandate” to lead Victoria’s economic recovery effort after the pandemic.

“Danni is a strong leader, a passionate advocate, and knows how important the

industry will be for Victoria’s economic recovery,” he said.

“She has been a leading voice in key policy debates in Victoria for many years, and is

well respected across industry and government.”

Ms Hunter will start on January 11, while former executive director Ms Wall has been appointed CEO of Office of Projects Victoria.
